Closer to Home
So we get a call from Ryland Homes today, who has been jerking us royally for the past several months on the house we’ve been trying to buy. Long story short, we will be able to move into a home with a few more amenities than we originally selected for the house we were having built, for the same price we were originally going to pay.
Sometimes, getting screwed over can help you to make it over.
We originally began this process of purchasing and building a home last September, more than half way through our engagement. It took a lot of planning and maneuvering on our end to get it done, because my wife is still in school and as both of us are relatively young, don’t have a lengthy work history. Still, the credit is good and we make decent money, so it really was pissing me off when “your house will be finished in June” transformed into “we are sure it will be finished in September,” to, “well, the contracts states that we have two years from signature to complete the house.”
We’ll be taking a trip up to the offices today to look at this house that the people are offering. Here’s hoping for a finished basement and some hardwood floors.
