The Other Side of the Tracks

Now that we’re married, we get to spend our timing hoping and encouraging others to do the same thing. This Saturday will be the first organized activity for that, as we will be attending the engagement party for one of my wife’s friends.

I can still remember planning and prepping for our engagement party last year. I wonder if people really didn’t want to come to it as much as I don’t want to come to this one? It’s not that I don’t like the people, I love the bride and groom to be to death. But I can just envision the questions from the majority of people in attendance, and the comparisons.

Seems like I’ve already grown tired of being a show pony.

Nevertheless, I’m sure we’ll go and have a great time, and this whole post will be all for naught. Not so much the obligations of being a supportive couple to friends and family, but the notions of being back into business as usual.
