Moving On Up
So in less than a week, my wife and I anticipating receiving the keys to our new home. We went for a walk through of the newly constructed town home on Thursday, and smudges on the new paint couldn’t diminish our love for the first thing we have literally built together as husband and wife.
She is totally ecstatic about decorating ideas, entertaining guests, and maximizing our little corner of the world. All I keep thinking about is making these mortgage payments, and if I should buy a lawnmower for the little stamp of yard I have.
Everyday, its seems I realize the big difference between men and women, and how to best work together given those differences. We both look at a building and see home, but she sees sanctuary and welcoming place for friends and family. I see bricks and mortar that I hope don’t fall apart in the 5-7 years we plan on staying there. Even still, I’m happy to report that both of us are cognizant of what the other looks at the home as, and tries to relate to those looks.
At the same time, I firmly believe that I’ll be helping to be up curtains long before she is helping to clean out gutters.
