Welcome to Middle River, MD
I know it’s been a while, but that’s just how much hell it is trying to move into a new house. We have all our stuff in the place, and it’s even better than I could have imagined. Sure, I had been in the model and the walkthroughs, but there is something about waking up in a house and knowing it’s yours.
All those steps you climb to get your wife’s endless wardrobe to the bedroom, the steps you walk down to take the trash to the garage, all of that is yours; and it’s an amazing feeling.
I’ve only met one of my neighbors so far, and he’s cool folks. Really helps that he’s a police officer, and that he parks his cruiser right outside of his house. Although I don’t anything serious will be jumping off in Middle River, you never can tell these days.
The area is great; Wal-Mart’s, Best Buys and steakhouses as far as the eyes can see. If there’s ever a blizzard, which seems to happen in Maryland around every five years, we’re not that far away from food and materials, which will mean a lot to me if little ones start arriving on the scene in the next few years. The only negative thing I can attribute to the move is the extra 20 minutes it will take for me to get home to my lovely wife. But that can also be a positive, because that will give her 20 more minutes for my plate to be warm, or for me to warm hers on the evenings she’s arriving late.
That’s it for me. I’ll be a little more introspective after we stop living out of boxes.
