Out To Lunch

It took some time, but now I realize the value and significance of spending time with my wife. Not that I did not want to spend time with her, or that I didn’t want to make the time, but I guess because she’s so near and dear to my heart, I never really thought about what it takes to keep our marriage and friendship exciting.

We’re headed out to Quiznos in a few minutes as part of our Wednesday lunch date ritual. Because we work in close proximity to each other on Wednesdays, we try to go out to lunch together just to hold hands, joke around and be exactly what we are; young people in love. I’ve come to anticipate these meetings greatly, and I count down the minutes until its time for me to call her, or for her to call me to ask ‘what do you want to do for lunch?’

Being busy with working, blogging, trying to start up a business and be a college student is hard, but imagine doing all that as a newlywed. Rough. But one of the things I realized is that everything I do listed above I do for her, because she inspires me everyday to be the best at all of them. I know that she’ll always be around, but I figure it’s better to make her enjoy always being around than just feeling obligated.

It’s true when they say women are smarter. It’s not the intelligence part that puts them above us, its the foresight to know what really important, every second of the day.
