If The Relationship Doesn’t Feel Right…

…that’s probably a sign that you shouldn’t be in it. Take the example of Dirk Nowitzki, an all-NBA first teamer, whose alleged-fiancee’ is in all kinds of trouble for fraud and document forgery, and has a history of getting kind of crazy with athletes.

And that should be a lesson to everyone dating, engaged, married, or whatever the case may be; if it doesn’t feel right, don’t stay in it. Now, I know; this blog is all about promoting and celebrating marriage, but is SO difficult to promote and celebrate a sacred union that unleashes holy hell on the people involved in it.

You are not a parent, you are not a savior. For most of us, there are more days ahead of us then behind us. Your objective is not to stay with people and make them better, but to find a mate that is compatible enough that you find their flaws to not only be acceptable, but attractive.

Do not be addicted to drama, or to being a super hero. Pop culture may tell you that, your faith may tell you that, and your heart may tell you that, but those things don’t have to live with your pain in silent moments of suffering.
